As an Interim Manager, Leyland has worked on a full-time basis:

  • to fill a management vacancy during the time taken to hire a new candidate and maintain continuity for the team (and also actively participate in the recruiting process)

  • as a Project Leader to ensure top-level communication and relationship between the vendor and client teams so that the project had a successful outcome

  • to fill management roles for specific time-governed initiatives
Professional Business Management Solutions

All Leyland engagements include a significant element of training/coaching – a success component is the transfer of skills in both a formal and informal setting to the client team so that they have the basis to continue the upwards trajectory post-engagement.

This training/coaching background has been deployed in Ontario government grant projects where clients get financial support to upgrade employee skills and knowledge and typically those have been with sales and customer service teams.

Leyland Management’s sister company, Executive English Coach  provides custom English Coaching for senior executives to raise their level of spoken and written English language communication proficiency.

Based in Toronto, Leyland’s international and language credentials have led to engagements with travel and work for clients in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Czech Republic.

As a Fractional Manager, Leyland has worked with clients on either a regular part-time schedule or when projects arise:

  • as a member of a management team meeting once a month and also an Advisory Board role

  • in a Special Projects role working two days a week on a five-year sales growth project including the management implementation of Salesforce CRM

  • as the President of a company which only required management and supervisory presence on site as dictated by order volume

Most of Leyland’s consulting work, takes the form of a Phase 1 project to understand a clients’ opportunities and/or challenges.  The deliverable is an actionable roadmap of solution recommendations with measurable timelines, outcomes and ROI.

Each client has unique needs, so each Phase 1 project will be tailored specifically to that client, not from a boilerplate template.

The outcome of Phase1will be a Phase 2 proposal which identifies the best options to  deliver value by leading or being a participant in the implementation of the Phase recommendations
